NITON XLt, XLp & XLi 800 Series Alloy Analyzers use low-energy X-rays to quickly identify metal alloys by name and percent concentrations of the major elements in high-temperature alloys, ferrous metals, and alloys of nickel, cobalt, copper, brass, titanium, tool-steels, and aerospace alloys. NITON 800 Series instruments are used for quality assurance, positive materials identification (PMI), and sorting scrap for recycling. The new XLt898HeP instrument provides direct analysis of aluminum and other light elements by using purging the sir in the instrument with Helium gas to enable the weaker Aluminum and Magnesium x-rays to be measured.

Simply touch the analyzer against the metal part and pull the trigger. Percent chemistry for each element begins to appear on the screen in 2 seconds and is continually updated as the reading precision improves with time. The alloy name is displayed on the screen when the chemistry matches a library entry. Signature Match mode and SuperChem mode offer additional testing options for matching, pass/fail, and comparative chemistry.

The instrument automatically calibrates at the press of a button. Calibration check standards are provided with the instrument. All tests are numbered in series and stored along with time and date stamp, x-ray test spectrum, chemistry and user entered test specimen information. NDT download software transfers results to your PC, where the data is displayed in easy-to-use spreadsheet format for sorting or inserting in reports. All data is encrypted to prevent tampering and is therefore defensible. 

The XLi and XLp models use one or more radioactive isotopes to produce the low-energy X-rays used for analysis. The XLt model uses our new miniature X-ray tube instead of isotopes. Special features include Touch-Screen, optional wireless connection to a PC or a PocketPC for data viewing, test initiatio,n and data download. A test stand is available for in-place testing.
